History of Van Prooyen Builders, Inc

Craig Van Prooyen, General Contractor and Owner of Van Prooyen Builders, has been in the construction field since 1982. He completed his schooling in Fairbault, Minnesota and spent several years working closely with various local experienced carpenters and tradesmen to fine tune his craftsmanship. He began operating independently in the fall of 1992 as Van Prooyen Builders. By December 1995, he became incorporated.

From small remodeling jobs and building decks in 1992, Van Prooyen Builders, Inc. has become a company that is both respected and valued in the industry. Our list of available products include; commercial construction/remodeling, custom and semi-custom single-family homes, and multi-family construction, including town homes and paired villas.  Van Prooyen Builders, Inc. also offers fully handicapped accessible homes to our list of products available. 

Since establishing Van Prooyen Builders in 1992, Craig Van Prooyen’s steadfast commitment to quality craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail and professionalism at all levels continue to be the foundation of his growing company. You’ll find their paired-villas in Merrillville’s ‘Hunter’s Glen’ and ‘Madison Meadows’, as well as Hobart’s ‘Deep River Pointe’ on the Supervisor’s Golf Course. The company’s luxurious single-family homes have been the choice of buyers in some of the area’s most desirable neighborhoods, including Briar Ridge, Prairie Estates, White Hawk Country Club, Ellendale Farms and Copper Creek.

In fact, Craig Van Prooyen firmly believes that much of his current success is based on the popularity of his past projects. He also takes great pride in the fact that his company provides custom options while maintaining affordable prices.

Van Prooyen Builders is currently building duplexes in Hunter's Glen, Phase 3 located in Merrillville, Indiana. Van Prooyen Builders is also currently building 2-story townhomes in Barrington Islands, Hobart, IN.

Van Prooyen Builders, Inc. and Craig Van Prooyen are members of the Indiana Builders Association, The National Association of Home Builders, and the local Builders Industry Association. Craig is currently a Certified Green Professional (CGP).
