The league is designed for the players to succeed in the game of baseball and enjoy all the benefits that Little League has to offer. We encourage FUN and FRIENDSHIP where everyone is a winner, there are no losers!!

About Merrillville Challenger Little League:
Thanks to Merrillville Little League, the Challengers had land earmarked for them for a baseball field of their own. But due to broken promises, time constraints and lack of equipment, in the Spring of 2005, all that was there was a pile of dirt waiting to be spread in the outfield, a concession stand floor with no walls or roof and dugouts with no benches.

In 2005, Van Prooyen Builders, who recruited landscapers, bricklayers and others to donate time and materials finished the field in 3 months. The field features the same dimensions as other Little League fields, but has some modifications that allow even children in wheelchairs to participate. These include paths from the dugout to home plate and extra wide entrances to the two dugouts. The field also features a sprinkler system and a concession stand.
